Curriculum vitae
Markus Greiss has been working as a translator since completing his translation studies at Heidelberg University in 1997. He was initially employed for three years by Berlitz Deutschland GmbH, where he mainly translated EU Member States' legislation into German.
From 2001 to 2012, he worked for CLS Communication AG in Basel. There, he focused on the translation, proofreading and stylistic revision of demanding texts, in particular for clients in the banking and financial sector. His training as a bank clerk at Deutsche Bank AG in Ludwigshafen/Rhine helped him in this area.
In addition to his work as a translator, Markus Greiss has given specialist translation and copywriting courses to CLS Communication's internal staff and external clients. After the completion of two postgraduate courses for the training of PR editors and copywriters, he also wrote German website and PR texts for CLS clients.
In February 2013, Markus Greiss set up his own business as a translator, freelance journalist and PR copywriter. Since then, he has been providing first-class language and copywriting services to publishing houses, public authorities, agencies and private clients.
Markus Greiss is a member of the German Federal Association of Interpreters and Translators (Bundesverband der Dolmetscher und Übersetzer, BDÜ) and the German Association for Specialized Journalists (Deutscher Fachjournalistenverband, DFJV).
